University of Toccoa Falls Online Exercise Science

Toccoa Falls launched this online Exercise Science B.S. in fall 2026, so nobody has graduated from it yet. On paper it's one of the fuller online plans in our data, with two clinical practice courses, a conditioning course and a biomechanics course at a flat $400 per credit. It suits a student who wants a Christian worldview in every course and will check the details of a brand-new program.

The University of Toccoa Falls is a private Christian university in the foothills of North Georgia, affiliated with the Christian and Missionary Alliance. It announced this degree in January 2026 and began it that fall, alongside an online sport management major.

The degree is 126 credits: 72 general education credits including 30 in Bible and Theology, 12 open elective credits and 42 credits of exercise science and related science courses. The school says students start with biology, anatomy and physiology, then apply exercise physiology, motor development and conditioning, all within a Christian worldview.

Online tuition for 2026-2027 is $400 per credit hour, with $0 in additional fees. Multiply by 126 credits and you get $50,400. The rate rises to $410 for 2027-2028, which would make the same 126 credits $51,660, so your total depends on the years you enroll. A 12-credit semester is $4,800.

Books are extra. The tuition page estimates $600 per semester at 12 credits, while the catalog's online section estimates $300. Ask which is closer to real course costs. The school offers no institutional scholarships to online students.

Who It Fits

• You want a faith-centered program and don't mind the load that comes with it. Thirty credits of Bible and Theology are required, and applicants write a personal testimony. The school also asks for four Service and Outreach assignments before graduation.
• You want a clinical component on the transcript. The catalog plan includes EXS 473 and EXS 483 Clinical Practice I and II, which put you in community health, wellness centers or clinical settings and end with a research project.
• You're a full-time first responder. Full-time emergency first responders get 50 percent off tuition once the school verifies their status, which would take the 126-credit total to about $25,200 at the 2026-2027 rate.

Who Should Skip It

• Skip it if you need a track record. The first students started in fall 2026, and there's no graduation, exam pass or placement data for this degree.
• Skip it if you're aiming at the ACSM exercise physiologist exam after August 15, 2027. No CAAHEP accreditation is stated, and the school says only that its coursework is aligned with ACSM standards. See our certification-ready online exercise science degrees.
• Skip it if you want institutional scholarships. The school offers none for online students, though state and federal aid can apply at six credits per semester or more.

The 42-credit major starts with BIO 354 and 364 Anatomy and Physiology I and II and BIO 443 Nutrition. The exercise courses are EXS 213 Introduction, EXS 223 Exercise Diagnosis and Prescription, EXS 333 Motor Development and Learning, EXS 343 Exercise Physiology, EXS 353 Principles of Conditioning, EXS 363 Biomechanics and EXS 423 Measurement and Assessment. PED 313 covers prevention and care of injuries.

The catalog describes EXS 353 as covering resistance training, cardiovascular training and periodization, and EXS 363 as using motion capture and force plates. EXS 411 Senior Seminar is a one-credit capstone on bioethics and a Christian worldview.

General education adds PSY 283 Sport and Performance Psychology and MAT 253 Introduction to Statistics, plus either Chemistry I or Introduction to Physics.

Classes are offered every eight weeks in an asynchronous format. Fall 2026 had a 16-week session starting August 24 and an eight-week session starting October 19, and registration opened in March. The application is free and doesn't require SAT or ACT scores. First-time students send high school transcripts and a personal testimony, and transfer students send college transcripts.

The program page describes the degree as hands-on, and the catalog lists all the exercise science courses as offered online on a schedule. Confirm where clinical practice hours happen before you enroll.

The university is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, a regional accreditor. The exercise science degree lists no programmatic accreditation and doesn't appear on our CAAHEP or CASCE lists. CAAHEP is the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, and CASCE is the Council on Accreditation of Strength and Conditioning Education.

From August 15, 2027, ACSM-EP and ACSM-CEP candidates must graduate from a CAAHEP-accredited program or one in the process. From January 1, 2030, U.S. candidates for the CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) need a bachelor's from a CASCE-accredited program. Ask the school in writing whether it has started either process.

The school also says graduates can build toward athletic training, occupational therapy or physical therapy with additional planning.

• The degree is new. Its first students started in fall 2026, so any claim about outcomes has no graduates behind it.
• The program page and catalog tell different stories. The page says nothing about clinical practice, while the catalog requires six credits of it, and it doesn't say where online students complete it.
• The catalog lists EXS 214 as a prerequisite for EXS 423, but no EXS 214 appears in the degree plan. Ask which course is meant.
• Book costs conflict, $600 per semester on the tuition page and $300 in the catalog, and tuition will rise to $410 in 2027-2028.
• Graduation requires a C- in every major course, four Service and Outreach assignments and an application for graduation a full year ahead, which adds steps that other programs don't have.

• Where do online students complete EXS 473 and EXS 483, and does the school help arrange the sites?
• How does EXS 363 Biomechanics use motion capture and force plates in an online course?
• Which prerequisite applies to EXS 423, given the catalog names an EXS 214 that isn't in the plan?
